Benefits of regular exercise for your dog

We all know just how beneficial exercise is for our health and wellbeing and those same benefits apply to our four-legged friends as well. Walking every day will improve our heart function, keep our weight under control and hopefully lead to a long and happy life for both us and our dog.

What better way to build that bond between you and your dog than by going for an evening walk. A visit to a local park is an ideal way to enjoy a game of fetch with your dog. This is a great workout for the two of you and it provides great mental stimulation for them. Your dog may have the opportunity to socialize with other dogs at the park which will create a feeling of contentment and happiness for them. If you are lucky enough to live close to a beach let your dog go for a swim after a hot summer day. You may even like to join your dog in the water. You only have to see that look on their face which says “I’m having the best time of my life”. Our role is to create those feel-good experiences for our beloved friend...

Dogs are programmed to chase and hunt in the wild and are not meant to lead a sedentary lifestyle so by allowing your dog to exercise you are encouraging their natural instinct to surface.

A lack of exercise can lead to obesity, destructive behavior, and even depression in dogs.

It makes pawfect sense to grab that lead and head out the door, even if it is just for 20 minutes. Your dog will thank you for it in more ways than one.

A happy dog makes for a happy life.
